1917 – 2014
John Winstead Maguire of Tillsonburg passed away Monday July 21st at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Ella Maguire (1986), Father of Elsie Bennett R.R. #3 Delhi and Bev Maguire (Janet), Baldwin Place, Tillsonburg. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Oatman (Shelley), Brenda Jones (Wade), Christine Oatman, David Maguire, Anne Craig (Steve) and 7 great grandchildren Rion and Branden Jones, Nicole and Dylan Chesterman, Chantel Oatman, Claire and Myra Craig.
John was a former tobacco farmer at Glen Meyer. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Langton Lions Club. He was also a member and past chairman of the Tillsonburg District High School Board. John was an avid golfer and member of the Port Rowan Golf Course until the age of 92. Predeceased by 1 sister Marguerite (Rowan) Stansell and son inlaw Doug Bennett (2007). There will be no visitation. Private family graveside service with inurnment in Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial Donations to Tillsonburg Hospital will be appreciated. Ostrander Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
