Peacefully at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Friday, September 19, 2014, James G. Dawson, formerly of Mt. Elgin passed away in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Donna (Prouse) Dawson (1990). Loving father of Judy Atkins (Dennis) of Tillsonburg, Larry Dawson (Harriet) of Simcoe, Murry Dawson (Linda) of Culloden, Douglas Dawson (Olga) of London, Bill Dawson (Susan) of Mt. Elgin and Gary Dawson (Deb) of Mt. Elgin. Cherished grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Margaret Dawson of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by a son Donald Dawson, granddaughter Angela Dawson and his parents Louis and Odetta (Earl) Dawson. James spent all his life on the farm. Next to his family, farming was his life. Friends and relatives will received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lynne Allin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Elgin Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Mt. Elgin United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
