Ruth Tanner 1929-2014
Peacefully on Tuesday September 30th, 2014, Ruth Tanner passed away at Sakura House, Woodstock, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Fred Tanner (1991). Much loved mother of Ann Edwards of Toronto and Patti Tanner (Kenn Leitch) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother to Jesse D’Hulster of St Catharines and Dylan D’Hulster of London. Also left to mourn their loss is her sister Lois Burns (Bill 1982) (Bruce Essig 2009), sister-in-law Melba Tanner of Guelph and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her daughter Michelle D’Hulster (2004), her sisters Helen White and Mona Ostrander, and her brother Jack Fairbairn as well as her parents Elliott and Minnie Fairbairn. Ruth was a former employee of Bell Canada for 25 years and was employed as a sales clerk for Zack’s Fashion Annex in the Tillsonburg Town Centre Mall. Ruth was also a former member of the Tillsonburg Curling Club and the Tillsonburg Business Girls Bowling League. Friends will be received at the Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg (519)842-5221 on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Funeral Service for Ruth will be held in the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Ferrier officiating. Interment in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to Sakura House Woodstock.
