It is with great sadness that the family of Paul LeRoy Franklin, of Straffordville, announce his passing at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the age of 72 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Sheila (Norris) Franklin. Loving father of Dwayne (Barb) and Dean (Cindy). Cherished grandfather of Mike (Kayla), Greg (Tanya) and great-grandfather of Bailey, Brayden and Cody. Dear brother of Rose Bananger, Linda McMorine (Tom), Brian (Kay) Lawrence all of Arizona and Allen Franklin of Ingersoll. Brother-in-law of Brad (Cheryl) Norris of St. Thomas, Garry (Jean) Norris of Tillsonburg and Diana Norris of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by his birth mom Georgina Moore Franklin, his chosen parents Mary Jane and Earl Franklin, three chosen brothers Ken, Ron and Wes Franklin, one brother-in-law Merlin Norris, mother and father-in-law Violet and Charlie Norris, three nephews James Norris, Steve McMorine and Kenneth Rohrer. Paul worked for many years as a carpenter and for Superior Propane. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a proud granddad who supported all of his grandchildren’s hockey activities. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rainey Weisler officiating. Interment to follow in the Straffordville Cemetery. Memorial donations to Cancer Research, Diabetes Association or the ALS Society would be appreciated by the family.
