Laura Marie Wells
November 17, 1943 – October 25, 2014

After a lengthy battle with illness, Laura Marie Wells, of Straffordville, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital-Palliative Care, with her loving family by her side, at the age of 70 years. Loving sister to Bill Wells and his wife Nancy, and sister-in-law Teresa Wells, all of Straffordville. Cherished Aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great, great nieces and nephews. Laura will be forever remembered by her family and many dear friends for her compassion, love, and her candid sense of humour. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Laurabelle Wells, brothers Thomas and Rick, half-brothers Leslie (Doris), Jack (Dorothy), Murray (Betty) Wells, and her half-sister Dorothy Wells. Laura worked with the OPP for 35 years in Tillsonburg, she was a long-time and very active member of Straffordville United Church as a Sunday School Teacher, a UCW Member and an appreciative member of the congregation.
Friends will be received at the Ostrander’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Laura’s Funeral Service will be held at the Straffordville United Church on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Cordell Parson officiating. Interment in the Straffordville Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Straffordville United Church – General Fund, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
