when Brent had his esophageal surgery over 5 years ago, i was there with my sister  that first terrible postop day to see him stepping out of bed to go for a walk with the acccompanying physio staff......no small matter with multiple IV sites and IV pumps and two chest tubes and other medical paraphernalia in tow.......still when after a distance he was asked if he would turn around by the staff he said "NO" and went on a bit further....he had to get back too!!... he would always look forward, go further.....it was no mean feat in my estimation..........in the times to follow there were other times when his courage shone through but this was an outstanding  moment., a signature event for me.........his was truly a brave heart....Peace be with you dear Brent ...love lou
