Evert Hamminga has gone to meet his Lord & Savior, passing away peacefully at the Bonnie Brae Health Care Center, Tavistock on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, Evert Hamminga of Tillsonburg at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Anna Elizabeth (Oosters) Hamminga and the late Annie (Brouwer) Hamminga (1967). Loving father of Ralph (Joanne) Hamminga, Hilda Baughan and Marian (John) Weide. Step-father of Matthew Van Ham, Case Van Ham, Bill (Marlene)Van Ham, Nancy (Don) Steenbergen and John Van Ham. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, Also survived by his sister Janny (Hendrick) Aalders. Predeceased by his parents Roelf & Marchien Hamminga 4 brothers & 5 sisters as well as 1 grandchild. Evert became known in the Community of Aylmer where he operated the Community Information & Help Centre from 1973-1991 from which he retired.
Friends will be received at the Tillsonburg Alliance Church, 270 Quarter Town Line Road, Tillsonburg on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 11 a.m. until time of Service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Woodburn officiating. Memorial donations to the Gideon’s or charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Ltd.
