Donal Ray Emerson (1914 – 2014)

Surrounded by his loving family, Donal Ray Emerson, formerly of Vienna passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, St. Thomas on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the age of 100 years. Beloved husband of his first wife Myrtle (Forsyth) Emerson (1962) and his second wife Luella (Scott) Emerson (2001). Proud and caring father of George Emerson and his wife Maude of Aylmer, Karen Oke of Springford and Katherine Emerson of Mississauga. Cherished grandfather of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Hazel Sales of Woodstock, Connie Williams and her husband Jack of St. Thomas and Murray Emerson and his wife Dorothy of Vienna. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son-in-law Haorld Oke and two brothers K.C. Emerson and George Emerson. Don farmed tobacco in the Vienna area for many years. He was a Life Member of the Vienna Masonic Lodge #237, Life Member of the Royal Arch Masons , Life Member of the Order of the Easter Star Areme Chapter Vienna #15 and also a Member of the Shriners Lodge. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Robert Clifford officiating. Interment in the St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna. A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. and an Eastern Star Memorial Service will commence at 6:30 p.m. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Vienna would be appreciated.
