Vivian Jessie Matthews (1950 – 2015)
After a long struggle with cancer, it is with great sadness the family of Vivian Matthews announce her passing. Vivian is survived by her husband Ed, daughters Pam and Patricia, four grandchildren Casey, Ben, Molly and Andrew, brothers Murray (Karen) and Glenn. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Dorothy Alward and her aunt Nellie Alward. Vivian was born in Tillsonburg on February 15, 1950. She lived her entire life in Port Burwell. She married Ed Matthews on September 21, 1968. Vivian loved life and cared for many, many people over the years. Her family and her grandkids meant the world to her. She loved her cats and especially her garden. She had a deep and unwavering faith in God and the Bible. Those things are what carried her through her long struggle. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service for Vivian will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Burkholder officiating. Interment to follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna. Memorial donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
